An ode to once-favoured Andantes

This work was composed in response to Beethoven’s ‘Waldstein’ Sonata, Op. 53, and the work which was once destined to be the Sonata’s middle movement, the Andante Favori, WoO 57

Inspired by the painting 'The Red Buoy' by Paul Signac

Fragments for Piano (2016) c. 8 mins
3 short movements for piano: 'Before', 'During' & 'After'. Inspired by the poem 'Fragments' by Anna Akhmatova.

Time's Long Ruin (2013) c. 11 mins
This work was inspired by the characters and events in Stephen Orr's novel 'Time's Long Ruin'. It was written as a brainstorming exercise in preparation for beginning work on my opera, 'Innocence', a story about grief, love, family and ambiguous loss.​

Studies in Odd Times (2012) c. 14 mins (complete set)
A set of 6 short studies for solo piano, loosely based upon Bartok's 'Six Dances in Bulgarian Rhythm'.
