With illness comes challenge, tension, searching and release. Alongside treatment comes rest, healing, solace and community. In patience lies strength and grace.
These are the words I wrote following my visit to St Vincent’s hospital with the Hush team in 2023. From this experience, I wanted to write a piece that created a sense of searching and journey, with a balm of optimism and light woven throughout.
The gently weaving melodies cycle between harp and marimba, delaying resolution until the ultimate, well-earned pinnacle at the end of the piece. The music swells, falls, and shifts in waves of harmony: we must be patient and simply go where it takes us.
